We are a Private Lender who used the Project Management Services of Retail PM (Terry Lunney) in the 2019 development of a 7-Eleven and multi retail outlet in Wendouree, Ballarat. Victoria
Notwithstanding the needs of a regional build, potential supply/ trade constraints and Ballarat’s notorious weather, the Project was delivered on time and budget due to the significant contribution of Terry and his team.
In particular we noted:
- Reliable and dependable.
Based in Melbourne with time constraints our reliance on Terry was immeasurable. Each week Terry was on site ensuring key milestones targets were met and fielding responses to the builder in a manner easily understood. All monthly Project Control Group meetings were well run by Terry and his team.
- Knowledge and attention to detail.
Terry from his appointment assisted the Property owner negotiate through the Council and VCAT approval process and secured the build contract with the successful tender applicant.
- Professionalism.
A level of maturity and experience is applied to situations to achieve the right outcomes. Knowledge of what is right and the process for achieving cost effective outcomes is what differentiates Terry and Retail PM from the rest
- When things go wrong.
With developments the unforeseen can occur through no fault of the developer and builder especially when constructing specialised assets. Additional storm water services were required on project commencement and Terry’s hands on approach to the problem and solution provide the right outcomes to the satisfaction of all stakeholders (Council, Developer and Builder).
- Communication.
Readily accessible by all stakeholders with deliverables articulated in an easy but concise manner
- “Wrap up”.
Intimate project knowledge and attention to the final product saw most final matters fixed progressively up to Practical Completion. Final Inspections were detailed with no push back from the builder.
In closing I would recommend Terry Lunney and Retail PM Pty Ltd as Project Managers and will seek to utilise their services in the future when the need arises

Retail PM partnered with Starbucks to deliver an aggressive roll out program of 11 new stores in an 8 month time frame. Retail PM worked with all internal and external stakeholders to assist in developing systems and processes for an efficient and sustainable new store program . Each Starbucks store is bespoke which wasn’t an issue for Retail PM, they were able to deliver on time with a high level of execution. Terry is always approachable and willing to flex as required. He has a huge amount of experience which is shown through the way in which he conducts himself with the client and contractors.
